Wholesale food prices dipped for the second consecutive month in September, according to preliminary figures from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.  Despite the recent declines, wholesale food prices remained 6.2 percent above their year-ago level.

The national economy bounced back from the August slowdown, adding a net 248,000 jobs in September.  Overall, the economy remains on pace to register its strongest calendar-year job growth in 15 years.
