What is Restaurant TrendMapper?
Created by the National Restaurant Association, Restaurant TrendMapper is the ultimate source for restaurant professionals and industry watchers who want timely analysis of the economic trends that impact the restaurant industry.

What does Restaurant TrendMapper include?
The flagship features of this online subscription service include exclusive access to aggregated Restaurant Performance Index and Tracking Survey data; detailed monthly analyses of national restaurant sales and employment, wholesale food and commodity prices, menu price inflation, wage and hour trends, as well as other key economic indicators that impact the restaurant industry. In addition, it tracks trends in national and state eating and drinking place location counts. 

What doesn’t TrendMapper include?
Restaurant TrendMapper does not include data on individual restaurant companies, or details by city/county or international markets. Sales data by segment is based on NAICS (Code 722) segment definitions – i.e. fullservice and limited-service – rather than by the segments commonly referred to as fine/casual/family dining and fast casual.

Where does the data come from?
Primary research by the NRA includes the Restaurant Performance Index and Tracking Survey, as well as sales projections. Government sources include the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), U.S. Census Bureau and Bureau of Economic Analysis.

Can I download the data?
Yes. In addition to overview articles summarizing current data highlights, subscribers have the ability to download Excel files of time-series data variables for most sections of Restaurant TrendMapper.

May I use Restaurant TrendMapper information on my website, or in a presentation?
You may paraphrase and refer to information and data in Restaurant TrendMapper with proper credit (Source: National Restaurant Association, Restaurant TrendMapper). However, you may not post online the full downloadable data files and charts, or reprint complete articles.

How much does it cost to subscribe?
Annual subscriptions to Restaurant TrendMapper are $169 for NRA members and $425 for non-members, and available in the NRA’s online store.

I’m interested in having several people in my organization access Restaurant TrendMapper. Do you offer that as an option?
We assess requests for site-license access on a case-by-case basis. Please email askus@restaurant.org with your detailed request and contact information.

I subscribed, but I’d like a refund. What do I do?
Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds on subscription fees as Restaurant TrendMapper is an online service with downloadable content.
